A Tribute To A Lion King

Cameron the lion was rescued in 2004 with his white tiger companion Zabu from a run-down roadside zoo. The odd couple were raised together by the zoo in hopes of crossbreeding liger cubs. He came to the sanctuary skin and bones and it was up to us to turn his life around and give him a better quality of life and that we did, but in the last couple of years his health was slowly declining. We tried everything medically possible to keep him around and feeling good, but we ran out of options. We were not ready to see him go, but he was telling us it was time. We will miss his love for Zabu, his silly antics, his loud roars, and even his stubbornness. Cameron has taught us that true love sees no differences and that we must continue to fight to end the captive breeding of big cats.
